Schweibenalp is a a living and working community located in the midst of the Bernese Oberland Alps, on a plateau 1100m (about 3300 feet) above sea level overlooking the turquoise Lake Brienz.
It’s a part of Global Ecovillage network and has been contributing to the development of a holistic lifestyle and universal spirituality for over 35 years.

About the work exchange & volunteer opportunity
Schweibenalp frequently offers volunteering places in the seminar house and in the permaculture project they run.
As a volunteer you’ll need to be available for work 6 hours per day, 5 days a week in exchange for free accommodation and food. To cover tax-based costs (VAT), you’ll be asked to pay CHF 100.- for the first month, and CHF 65.- for all following months. It might be necessary to work longer hours during intensive times, which will be balanced out during your stay. 2 days per week are free.

The minimum stay is 1 month for volunteers, if you are not swiss citizen the maximum program length is 90 days.  In the summer season there is a possibility to work in the  kitchen as a long-term volunteer for up to 4 months.

Requirements
While working in the various areas it is needed clarity and tolerance with other people, a good ability to communicate and also please don’t forget to bring your humour, independence and self-responsibility. Attendance in the volunteer meetings and regular conversations are compulsory. Your are welcome in the events of the community which you can regularly find in the weekplan.
